Back To The Start

They met in an out back bar

He played a golden guitar

And he sang her love songs through the night

She said, “Could I stay a while”?

He failed for her smile

And they, carried on for some time

But it wasn’t very long

Till something went wrong

And she started to look at other men

She left him high and dry

Not just for any guy

But she ran away with his best friend

 

She pulled him in and she broke his heart

And now he’s going Back To The Start

And he’s gonna to be alone again

It hasn’t rained in so very long

And all he sings is a sad song

And he’d give anything to Go Back When

 

This Land is dry as a bone 

Where he built his home

And he’s got animals to feed

This has been done before

He’s been here before

It’s a repeat of history

He was just a little boy

When his Mamma gave him a toy

And he never saw her again

She broke his beautiful heart

She broke her little boy’s heart

And now it’s broke again
